Ramagya School, Sector 50, recently had the honour of hosting celebrated author Linthoi Chanu for an insightful and inspiring session with our senior students on 22nd April 2025. The event centred around her acclaimed book “Waykel Kati,” a moving tale rooted in the rich heritage and emotional landscapes of India’s Northeast.

The session opened with eager anticipation as students and faculty gathered to explore the story behind the story. Linthoi Chanu shared the inspiration and challenges that shaped Waykel Kati, offering students a rare glimpse into the writer’s creative world. Her candid reflections on cultural representation, emotional authenticity, and the art of storytelling deeply resonated with everyone in the room.

In a heartwarming interactive exchange, students posed thoughtful questions about the characters, themes, and writing process. The highlight of the event was Linthoi’s poignant reading of an excerpt from her book, which brought moments of introspection, empathy, and admiration.

This author visit wasn’t just a literary event—it was a celebration of diverse voices and the transformative power of stories. It encouraged students to not only read widely but also embrace narratives that reflect the soul of a region and the universality of human emotion.

At Ramagya, we believe that true learning happens when students connect with creators, not just their creations. This special interaction with Linthoi Chanu added another enriching chapter to our commitment to fostering literary appreciation and cultural understanding.

At Ramagya, we don’t just read stories—we connect with the storytellers who bring them to life!
