Skype session with Sri Lanka On India’s Culture
The culture of India refers collectively to the thousands of distinct and unique cultures of all religions and communities present in India. India’s languages, religions, dance, music, architecture, food and customs differ from place to place within the country. Indian culture, often labelled as an amalgamation of several cultures, spans across the Indian subcontinent and has been influenced by a history that is several millennia old.
Many elements of India’s diverse cultures, such as Indian religions, philosophy, cuisine, languages, dance, music and movies have a profound impact across the Indosphere, Greater India and the world.
The children of Ramagya School Dadri had a Mystery Skype Session with Sri Lanka. The Skype session was headed by MS. Taruna Kapoor from India and Mr Manjula Gayan from Sri Lanka. Ms Lorraine Palermino from the U.S. also joined the session. The session was on the culture, dance, music and amazing facts of India. The session was started with Aarti. The purpose of performing aarti is the waving of lighted wicks before the deities in a spirit of humility and gratitude, wherein faithful followers become immersed in god’s divine form. It symbolizes the five elements: Space (Akash) Wind (Vayu). Further, the session was continued with a patriotic dance performance by students of Grade 5th, 6th& 7th.
Ms Madhulika sang a patriotic song ‘Vande Matram’ which is our National song.
Mr. Ayush sung a song ‘Subhanallah’.
The Sri Lanka students also told some amazing facts about their country and our students too shared the same.
All the students sang the National Anthem. Sri Lanka students also sang their National Anthem.
To sum it up it was a great session and children enjoyed talking to each other and promised to get in touch again soon.
