In August, Ramagya School’s STEM program offered a series of dynamic activities designed to inspire and engage students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our hands-on projects foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills while providing a deeper understanding of fundamental scientific principles.
Mountain Water System: Students built miniature models of mountain water systems using materials like clay and plastic bottles. This activity illustrated principles of gravity, water flow, and natural filtration, bridging engineering concepts with environmental science.
Spider Web Creation: By mimicking the intricate structure of a spider’s web using strings and pins, students explored the natural engineering marvels of spider webs, learning about strength and utility in design.
Homemade Thermometer: Students constructed simple thermometers from glass tubes, colored water, and paper scales, gaining insights into temperature measurement and the expansion of liquids.
Balanced Sculpture: This activity involved creating balanced sculptures with blocks, sticks, and clay, helping students understand equilibrium and stability in structures.
String Instruments: Crafting string instruments from cardboard, rubber bands, and wooden sticks introduced students to the physics of sound and vibration, allowing them to experiment with musical tones.
These activities not only enhanced students’ STEM skills but also fostered a spirit of innovation and creativity, preparing them to excel in an ever-evolving world.
