A session on ‘Kalamkari Folk Art Work’ was held for class XII students. Kalamkari is an ancient style of hand painting done on cotton or silk fabric with a tamarind pen, using natural dyes. Common themes of kalamkari work are flowers, peacock, divine characters of Hindu epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana. Students tried this folk painting on a sheet using a black pen and the outcome was beautiful.
