Children from Ramagya School, Dadri of classes 5, 6, 7 & 8 went to the parliament house or Sansad Bhawan on 24th July 2019.
Originally called the ‘House of Parliament’ it was designed by the British architects Sir Edwin Lutyens & Sir Herbert Baker in 1912-1913 as part of their wider mandate to construct a new administrative Capital city for British India. It is found that the circular structure of the 11th century “Chausath Yogini Temple” may also inspire the design of the building. Construction of the Parliament House began in 1921 and was completed in 1927. The opening ceremony of the parliament house was proposed on 18th January 1927.
The Parliament Museum was opened in 2006 stands next to the Parliament House in the building of the Parliament Library.
The children were briefed about the functions of the Parliament before going on the excursion. The children attended the session and listened to the speech of Anurag Thakur. This was a totally new experience for the children and imparted them immense knowledge.
The children went to The Waste to Wonder Park which is a unique theme park. Inaugurated on 21st Feb 2019 by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. The Park has been thrown open for the public.
Ever Wondered what would be like seeing the Seven wonders of the World. The Seven wonders are the Taj Mahal, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pyramid of Giza, The Roman Colosseum, Christ the Redeemer – Statue, Statue of Liberty and Eiffel Tower and the Replica of the fascinating marvels was observed by the children, which added to their knowledge.
Finally, the children visited the India Gate, originally called the (All India War Memorial) is a war memorial located astride the Rajpath.
It is a memory to 70,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who died in the period 1914-21 in the First World War. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens.
In 1972, following the Bangladesh Liberation War, a small simple structure, consisting of a black marble plinth, with a reversed rifle, capped by a war helmet, bounded by four eternal flames, was built beneath the Soaring Memorial Archway. This structure is called the ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti”, or the flame of the Immortal Soldier. Since 1971 has served as India’s Tomb of the unknown soldiers. Children brimming with enthusiasm and newly attain knowledge returned home richer and more satisfied.
